Heroic Tips: Making Brush Time Fun!

Your Little Hero’s toothbrush is the most powerful tool to keep the voracious Sugarbugs at bay. However, it’s not uncommon for a child to try and avoid this magnificent super tool when it’s time to brush that big smile. Not Brushing Can Spoil the Mission

One of the best things you can do to help your Little Hero understand the importance of brushing is letting them know what happens when they don’t. Let them know the Sugarbugs never take brakes to spoil the mission and not brushing makes their job so much easier. Carefully try to explain the villainous ways of Gingy Gin (gingivitis), Plaki Plak (plaque) and the Cavity Creep (cavities).

Make it Fun!

Brushing should be an action-packed adventure for your Little Hero and there are several things you can do to make it so. Encourage them to brush the way the wheels of a train move! Their strokes should be made in big circular motions to cover every little crevice of their young and beautiful smile.

You can also try to play games to make brush time even more fun and exciting! Encourage your Little Hero to pick a short (2 minute) song and brush for the duration of the tune. As the real hero, your child looks up to you, so don’t be afraid to join in on the fun!

Let Your Little Hero Take the Reins

Your Little Hero’s super tools are the first defense against the ravenous Sugarbugs, so they should be able to pick out the ones they want! Encourage your child to pick his/her favorite toothbrush and toothpaste. They’ll be much more inclined to brush if they use the super tools they picked out on their own.

A little praise can do a world of wonders, so don’t hesitate to compliment your Little Hero when he/she decides to brush on their own. Also make sure he/she uses the proper technique for two minutes.
